What is the role of the client, the practitioner, and consciousness in healing? (Part I)
Greetings, beautiful beings of light!
The terms “consciousness” and “living consciously” arise frequently in conversation. What does this mean in terms of one’s own healing journey?
First and foremost, it is important to recognize that our beingness, as well as the body’s natural state, is one of health and well-being. As we become lost in the hectic and stress-filled state of daily life, we frequently become cut-off from our natural state of well-being. This does not simply affect us physically. Indeed, the first evidence of any dis-ease appears in one of our energetic bodies - physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, etheric. Wherever this occurs, it is often referred to as being blocked, imbalanced, or out of alignment. If we are paying attention, we will notice where we feel “off,” out of sorts, overly emotional, or that things just do not seem to be going our way. All of these feelings are indicators that we are being given opportunities to correct an imbalance before it becomes larger and more impactful in our lives. Unfortunately, we have often been trained to ignore these signals and to barrel ahead.
Because everything that happens in our experience is intended to assist us in awakening in remembrance of who we are, if this misalignment, blockage or imbalance continues, something more significant is likely to manifest within our physical experience - be it some form of illness, accident, or other challenge. When such an event occurs, it is yet another opportunity for us to course correct, to learn, and to love ourselves.
Healing modalities provide myriad ways to bring our physical and energetic systems into alignment. Indeed, healing is simply a process of returning to our natural state of well-being. Most significant in any healing journey is the participation of the person seeking such a healing, for, no matter how skilled a practitioner, no lasting change can arise without the client’s willingness to allow it. The client is, in fact, the one who heals themself. The practitioner is primarily a facilitator who holds the space, guides, and encourages the healing process through their wisdom, knowledge, and various techniques. The participation of both the client and the practitioner is vital in any healing session.
This is true whether one is engaging traditional Western medical technology or the technologies of holistic healing. These technologies are not mutually exclusive and may often be used in tandem to create a more positive result than either alone, particularly given the belief systems of our current collective consciousness. Whichever path is chosen, the level of the client’s willingness to participate and allow will determine the level of healing that results.
Irrespective of the healing modality(ies) selected, healing will be fostered most when the client engages in a process of self-discovery. This discovery involves uncovering one’s belief systems and programming, as well as the willingness to relinquish those that are not serving one’s highest good. If the client is willing to allow it, the energy of the planet now makes that a much easier process than it was prior to 2012. When we learn about ourselves, we then give ourselves the gift of choice - do I wish to continue doing this in the old way with the same results or am I willing to try something new? Through this process, we learn things we may never have realized about ourselves or our experiences. As our awareness grows, we learn to respond rather than react - to choose how we wish to live. In simple terms, applying this awareness to every aspect of life in every experience we have is at the heart of living life consciously. It is the key to our own freedom.
By uncovering our belief systems, we learn that we are so much more than we think, that we are never alone, that we are supported and loved, and that everything we will ever need is already inside of us.
