Hidden Agendas
Today, we are invited by our guides and angels to take a deep dive into the question of “why.” This seemingly simple question holds the key to unlocking so much of our unconscious and subconscious thoughts, beliefs, behaviors, and patterning.
We often ask the question of “why” seeking to understand the purpose of our experiences on our spiritual path and may become frustrated when that is uncertain or unclear. Indeed, we are often asked to take things on faith and to trust as we develp our relationship with Spirit. This inevitably is rewarded even if it is extremely challenging in the process. As the saying goes, all is revealed in time.
If we are willing, this question also serves to shine a spotlight on what we do and the purpose for which we do it - whether or not we understand that consciously. As we have discussed, so much of what we do is based in our subconscious and we are being asked to bring our conscious awareness to all of it so that we may exercise choice in our lives and release that which does not serve us.
This inquiry invites us to not accept the first answer that the intellect and the ego provide. It reminds us that answers are not always logical. It asks us to look for when we are triggered and reacting. It welcomes us to be curious about what remains unresolved for us. It encourages us to converse with our inner child(ren) and to consciously integrate them into our experience.
In essence, exploring “why” asks us to look at all of our conditioning and to come into a new relationship with self in which we develop an authentic relationship with our feelings and needs.
For it is the unknown aspects of self and the subconscious that come forward to interfere, block, and sabotage us when we least expect it. It is the hidden agenda of our egos and the parts of us that are triggered and/or in survival consciousness that will act through us and against our conscious desires and what we believe are our best interests.
It is extremely important when exploring this question and our thoughts and actions that we do not judge, but rather recognize “what is.” This asks us to accept and allow the truth - even if it is “ugly.” This quest asks us to step out of denial and to recognize that we may act in ways that we wish we would not.
It also asks us to stop externalizing our actions and beliefs based upon the approval and admiration of others. Denial and external approval may seemingly make us feel better in the short term; however, they set us up to constantly be at the whim of others and overrun with anxiety.
Take the time to connect with your guides and angels today. Breathe into your heart space and allow yourself to feel the love they have for you. Allow your Higher Self to shower you with the love of your soul. Ask that they reveal to you how unconscious agendas/triggers are operating in your life.
How are you using the question of “why?”
Are you in denial or rationalizing things that you know in your heart you do not wish to do or accept?
Are you externalizing your approval and safety by seeking it from others?
Are you creating distance from your feelings and inner knowingness?
Do you recognize when you are triggered? Are you willing to explore your triggers?
Have you taken the time to connect with your inner child(ren)? Do you recognize when your inner child(ren) is/are sabotaging you - you are sabotaging yourself? Are you willing to look closer and be honest about why this is?
Are you willing to invite information to you without judgment? Are you willing to see it as part of your conditioning and as being human?
Are you willing to love yourself and know you are loveable even if you have acted in ways that you believe are inappropriate? Are you willing to see why you acted this way? Are you willing to forgive?
Are you willing to be honest with yourself about what you need and what is missing in your life?
Are you denying your needs?
This exploration is a lifelong journey and has the potential for enormous growth. It will allow you access to your own empowerment. It will set you free! And, you are supported each step of the journey.
