Focus on Today

Some days it is important to take stock of what is in front of us and what we need to get done today. This is one of those days to pay attention to the simple chores in your life and to have gratitude for them.

The simple maintenance in our lives is what actually allows us to blossom. It provides the foundation and structure for our dreams to manifest. And, when we come into presence in this moment, rather than always looking to the future (or the past) we often find the epiphany or break through we have been seeking.

Tasks that we consider mundane often have (if we allow it) a meditative quality to them. Stepping into this state aligns our vibration to receive.

This can be challenging as we are so used to “doing” that “being” becomes hard work or we feel we do not know how. Indeed, we are so conditioned to “do” that we cannot recognize that we cause ourselves to spin in our own tracks. 😵‍💫

Allowing yourself to simply be in the moment with what is in front of you in the moment, allows you to gain perspective on the spinning.

Furthermore, when we attend to the ‘chores’ of the day, we recalibrate and we give Spirit the opportunity to line up opportunities for us.

We also allow ourselves space to feel inspiration, and the inspired action that accompanies it. Then, as we take small steps forward we are met by Spirit who is ready and willing to help us.

We are in a physical experience and that involves a physical life. As we make each experience an opportunity and part of our sacred path, we are able to discern what is right action and when to step forward into doing.

As Joseph Campbell once said: “Take one step towards the gods and they will take ten steps towards you.”

The trick is to be grounded and humble as we walk through each day recognizing that everything is part of our journey.

What can you do today to attend to the simple chores in your life?

Can you reframe those chores as opportunities, taking pleasure in them and finding gratitude for them?

What happens when you surrender to the experience and treat these chores as a meditation?
