Wake the Lion

Today, we are invited to awaken our inner Lion. This is an invitation from Spirit to step into our authenticity and integrity and to have courage to move forward into our lives.

Courage is not about not being afraid, rather it is going forward even when we are afraid, in pain, or lost.

Today, we are invited to move forward even though we do not know the way or the destination. We are urged to be bold and take that first step forward into the unknown and into any situation in our lives that is painful or difficult.

If we wait until we have all of the answers or for everything to be “right,” we will never move forward and life will pass us by. Sometimes we have to act as if all is well and pretend that we feel more confidence and trust than we believe we do.

It is challenging to leap forward when we do not know if or how anything will work out, especially as we must do so without any guarantees. Yet, unless we leap into the unknown, we will never allow magic and miracle to reach us.

We must be willing to take risks and step out of our familiar, comfort zones.

We are reminded that we each have wings and can fly. We are remembering these wings and also how to use them. Yet, we often forget that they are there. We are also remembering that we do not have to do everything on our own and that we have a partner is Spirit. In addition, we are remembering and learning that things are often very different than what they seem.

The Council often uses the example of Indiana Jones in The Last Crusade when he must step off the cliff. It looks like he will fall to his demise. However, after taking a deep breath and stepping off the cliff, he lands almost immediately on a bridge that he could not see because it was perfectly camouflaged by his surroundings. Had he not lept, he would not have found the answers to his quest or the treasure that saves his father’s life.

The mere act of leaping awakens the courage and bravery within us. It also allows us to be proud of ourselves and to embrace more of whom we are and more of whom we wish to become. No one can ever take this awareness away from us.

This applies not only to taking risks with regard to actions in our lives, but also with regard to our hearts. Indeed, we are invited to open our hearts to allow ourselves to give and receive love. This requires vulnerability, self-discovery, and self-love. At times, it requires us to stand our ground. At times, it requires us not to react despite our emotional triggers and to trust.

We are asked to step forward notwithstanding the potential for pain or failure knowing that, when we act with authenticity, integrity, and courage, success will follow. Spirit will be with us each step of the way guiding us, consoling us, encouraging us onward, loving us, and celebrating us.

Take the time to meditate with Spirit today and ask for assistance in finding your inner courage for any challenging situation in your life. Perhaps ask the question and then journal or use guided writing to work through your emotions and listen for messages from Spirit. What does Spirit reveal to you?

Does your inner child need nourishment and/or reassurance? Can you hear their voice or feel them? Are they sad, angry, afraid or all three? What does your inner child need at this time?

Are you protecting your heart? What do you need in order to be willing to be vulnerable and open? What do you need to be willing to express the love within you? What do you need to be willing to receive love?

What does it mean to you to stand with courage in your life? Do you deny your emotions? What does it mean to you “to act as if?” Will you allow for the breath of your emotions and also the possibility of moving forward and taking a risk?

You are not alone, Dearest Ones. You are stronger than you know. Life is worth the risk. We love you deeply. And, so it is.
