Keep It Simple
Charles Schultz
Spirit has been repeatedly reminding us of late to keep it simple. When we simplify, we create space to have greater awareness, inner peace, and ability to receive.
Keeping it simple is another way of inviting us into a state of beingness. It asks us to look at everything in our lives and assess if it is serving us, how it is serving us, and if we would like to continue with it. This is across all aspects of our lives - mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical - and most things will touch on more than one.
It is more than just taking stock or clutter-clearing. It is an invitation to our feelings and discovery of how we use the things in our life. It is an invitation into awareness around programming, habits, fears, self-sabotage, escapism, distractions, obstacles, and limitations. In other words, it is a way for us to find out how much we are allowing the flow of energy into our lives and how much we are choking off that flow.
Thus, today’s invitation is to connect with your heart space and come into alignment. Set the intention to simplify your life - at least for today ;).
As you go throughout your day, ask yourself if things really need to be done? If they do, ask if they really need to be done today?
How easy is it for you to create space for yourself?
Are you avoiding life, people, situations, tasks through distractions, escapism, procrastination, or being too busy? How long is your “to do” list? If you notice you are doing this, what is it that is really operating under the surface?
Take the time to create space and simply be in it - whether this is a walk in nature, meditation, reading a book, cooking a favorite meal or something else. What happens when you do this? Do you receive messages? Do you feel more restored? Do you find you are inspired?
The invitation to simplify is also an invitation to sit in stillness - to be - in the midst of all that is swirling around you - with acceptance of things as they are, just as they are, because they are that way - and maintaining an open heart and connection so that you may receive. The image that comes to mind is sitting in a meditative lotus position with your arms extended and hands open with palms up - deeply relaxed and connected within while the swirl of “noise” (drama, chaos, obligations, duties, etc.) moves all around you. (Spirit often uses the character of “Pig-Pen” from the Snoopy and Charlie Brown comics to illustrate the swirling of “noise” all around us.) As we sit in this open position, we are in a state of maintaining coherence and peace-filled alignment no matter what is going on that allows us to be open, to be in flow and to receive the support and love of our souls and the Universe.
What do you discover as you practice this throughout your day?
